Jericó General Information

The town was founded by a group of families from Antioquia, among them the Santamarías, who sought to distribute the land between working hands to develop the country, the culture and the countryside. This effort developed a town that, unlike many in Colombia, was formed in a civic, orderly, and nonviolent manner. It is a true paradise of blue skies and colorful houses.

It is located 264 km from Bogotá and only 25 km from the capital of the department, Medellín. To get there, a new road is being finished that leaves the town 2 hours from the city. The cost of a bus is 28,000 COP leaving the transport terminal. To get from Bogotá, by car, it takes about 8 hours, although you can also arrive by plane to Medellín and leave from there.
